Babies playing Wii?

Not really...  just basically pushing the buttons and screeching her little voice at the TV as if she's really playing!  But it's cute and hilarious at the same time!

So I went downstairs today right before teaching a piano lesson and there was Halle, my niece, playing Wii with my sisters, Ashley and Kaili.  Halle really feels like a big girl when she's hanging out with her 10 and 13 year old Aunts.
Isn't she the cutest?  I couldn't resist taking pictures on my iphone!  She is so confident now with walking.  She turns in the middle of walking with no problems, and walks around like she owns the place. It is so darling.... she still kinda looks like she's walking on stilts though since her legs are so long!

A Worthy Cause

Last summer my mom and sister Laura traveled to Uganda with my sister's soccer team. There they saw poverty beyond measure. It broke my mom's heart to see children in such hard circumstances she wanted to badly to help them. They met this couple that run an orphanage in one of the areas there. The couple have 5 children of there own and 20 adopted orphans in one little house. They grow crops for food and make necklaces to sell on the streets. My mom has a agreed to help sell some of the necklaces here in Utah and 100% of the proceeds go to these children for basic education materials, food and clothing. It is such a great cause and there is so much need. If you would like to buy one of these handmade african necklaces please e-mail me at kimaldrich4@gmail.com.
We are giving them out for a donation to the orphanage of $10.
Every little bit counts.

Lake Powell

Meet the Lake Powell Dream Team...

Lake Powell was a total blast.  We had lots of great food, we skied, we cliff jumped, we wake-boarded, we knee boarded, we slalom-skied, we jet-skied, we tubed, and we wake skated and we even saw the Prince of Persia... which we loved so much we will be getting it on DVD when it comes out! :)
It was one amazing trip and we made some amazing memories.  We had a couple friends too that joined us: Clinton's friend Ryan and Emilee's friend Dallas came with us on our trip.  And Halle, almost 8 months, joined us on our family vacation for the first time.  She loved the water, and her graham crackers! :)
Thanks Mom and Dad for a great trip!

Halle Fashion Pics by Laura - 5 months

Halle is the one in black and red.  The other sweet little girl is Halle's cousin from Taylor's side of the family!

Kaili, Ashley, and their Pet... 2004

I stumbled over these pictures today and couldn't control myself! I have the cutest little sisters anyone could ask for.

These were taken when our friend Holly was babysitting the little girls and she brought over her special pet.... A SNAKE! I'm not sure my parents would have approved having their 4 & 5 year olds wrapped in a snake had they have known this was going to happen before hand. And he's not quite a little snake as you will most definitely note from these pictures...

Can you believe these kids are still alive today?!? I was looking at that picture of little Ashley and was a little freaked out by that snake wrapping itself around her back. That huge snake could easily have squeezed her little body in a second. Good thing he didn't! Love you Kaili and Ashley! You two are the cutest baby sisters ever! I'm crossing my fingers we have kids just as cute and sweet as you two! :)

First Boating Trip of the Year!

If I only had one word to describe this boating trip the word I would use is: "FREEZING!"

Sadly to say....  it was only 68 degrees when we were out on the water.  The water was freezing and it was also freezing while the boat was going, even if you weren't wet.  Ashley and my Dad were the only skiers today.  Lane and I figured we'd be getting in a lot of water skiing when we go to Lake Powell soon.  I also didn't feel like being sick the next day because of the near freezing temperature water.

Ashley water-skied and my dad used the wake-skate and the wake-surf.  My dad has fun with toys.  Ashley looked really cute in my mom's long wet suit.  It was a little big on her and not tight like normal, but she looked cute in it none the less.

We only lasted about 2 hours on the water.  We went home and swam in the heated pool and hot tub and had a BBQ with the Mortensens.  That part was awesome.  Natalie, Taylor and Halle even joined us and got in the hot tub with us.  Halle loved splashing around in the water.  She is such a cutie!

PS dad is growing a beard for the Nauvoo Pageant.  It's not a normal thing for a BYU professor.

November 2002

Just a random family picture I had with our foreign exchange student Cherry at Arches National Park. We all look so cute! We look so young too! Crazy how the time just flies.

Let's see what has happened since then:
  • Kaili no longer uses a binky
  • Ashley is still the family entertainment (singing with choreography!)
  • Clinton's voice dropped
  • Emilee grew 2 feet taller overnight it seems
  • Laura found her new passion of Photography
  • Kim served a mission
  • Natalie got married
  • Kim got married
  • Natalie had a baby girl... little precious Halle Snow Barrett
  • Bryan and Anne are now GRANDPARENTS!

My how time just flies... but it's those special memories that will always stay with us! I'm so glad I still have this picture to remember those moments way back when! :)

Mom's New Blog

This is Kimberly Aldrich. I just made this blog for my mom. I figured she'd be really good at it because she's such a wiz at our ward newsletters-- making them all pretty and organizing all the pictures and words. She's just amazing at that kind of stuff. I don't know why I didn't introduce her to blogging sooner.... oh yeah I know why... it's cause I just bearly figured out how to improve my own blog. How can I help someone else if I'm terrible at it too? ha ha. Well here's your first post mommy dear! Love ya tons!

Love,
Your Oldest Daughter Kimberly
